Among the core technologies of LCD monitors, TN (Twisted Nematic), IPS (In-Plane Switching), and VA (Vertical Alignment) are the three most mainstream panel types. Their distinct liquid crystal molecule arrangements give each unique advantages and disadvantages.

IPS (In-Plane Switching)
Liquid crystal molecules rotate entirely within the same plane, ensuring minimal changes in color and brightness from almost any angle, achieving a near-180° ultra-wide viewing angle. The panel is also the most rigid, showing no distortion when touched. However, this structure reduces light transmittance, leading to common edge light leakage, and consumes relatively more power.

Liquid crystal molecules align vertically when no voltage is applied and gradually "lie flat" as voltage increases. This structure delivers a native contrast ratio of up to 3000:1, producing deep, inky blacks, and is well-suited for curved screen manufacturing. But the longer deflection path of molecules results in the slowest response time—especially during black-to-gray transitions—causing noticeable motion blur. Colors also fade and wash out when viewed at extreme angles.

Liquid crystal molecules are arranged in a helical structure, controlling light through rapid twisting. It offers the fastest response time (as low as 1 ms) and lowest cost, making it a popular choice for early esports monitors. However, this comes at the expense of image quality: it only natively supports 6-bit color, resulting in poor color reproduction and viewing angles, and the soft panel is prone to water ripples when pressed.

· For professional color accuracy, wide viewing angles, and scratch resistance: Choose IPS (ideal for design, daily use, and multimedia).
· For deep blacks, high contrast, or curved displays (and can tolerate slight motion blur): Choose VA (ideal for movie and gaming immersion).
· For lightning-fast response and budget-friendly options (with lower image quality requirements): Choose TN (ideal for competitive esports scenarios).
